Jack
Mawdsley receives the 2004 Dale Griffin award from Pat Garrett,
CEO of Battle Creek Health System.
Distinguished
public servant and educator Jack K. Mawdsley, Ed.D., is the 2004
recipient of the Dale G. Griffin Healthcare Leadership Award. The
award, which recognizes exemplary contributions that improve the
quality and accessibility of health care in greater Battle Creek,
is presented annually as part of the Sherwood B. Winslow, M.D. Distinguished
Lectureship program.
Throughout
Dr. Mawdsleys remarkable career in educational service, he
was an active community participant and volunteer leader,
said Patrick R. Garrett, president and CEO of Battle Creek Health
System. It is this servant leadership to health care in Battle
Creek that we honor with the 2004 Griffin Award. Jack has given
generously of his time and leadership talents for several decades
and the health care community has been enriched by his volunteer
service.
Jack
has always been a wise counselor and consensus-builder, added
Garrett. His leadership style is quiet, dignified and fair.
He has been a true leader in the creation of our health care system.
Dr.
Mawdsley is the fourth recipient of the Griffin Award. Past winners
are Chris Christ (2001), Charles Seifert, M.D. (2002), and John
J.H. Schwarz M.D. (2003).
