James Battey, Jr., MD, PhD, is Chair of the National Institutes of Health Stem Cell Task Force and Director, National Institute of Deafness and Other Communication Disorders. He earned his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University and his postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School. He has been with NIH since 1983 and has served in numerous positions.
